I think what Bob is trying to say is that the so-called mid-lake area of Lake Como may be more convenient for you in terms of getting back and forth across the lake on the ferries and for reaching it in the first place. But that may not be as important to you as it is to others. We'll be in Menaggio later this week and I would be staying there regardless of what others said..so don't change your mind based on one feedback comment.

Have used the SATURNIA,DO POZZI, ALA,
LA FENICE & GABRIELLI SANDWIRTH, all close to S. Marco...
Others at the ACCADEMIA, MARCONI, KETTE
BISANZIO,and FLORA, have all beenmentioined favorably ...go into www.veniceinfo.it/ for better descri;tions of these hotels and others.
