Hotel in Prague/ Sheraton or Marriott
WE will be in Prague in late September, and have rooms reserved at the Prague, Sheraton. Recently, I was told that this is not in a great location, ( in New Town) and the Mariott near Old Town was a much better choice. Does anyone have any experience with either hotel? Or a suggestion about location?

The Marriott is surely the better location of the two, but it's not really in Old Town (it's about a 15 minute walk to Old Town Square).
Are these the only two hotels in Prague you will consider or are you open to some non-chain suggestions?

I have not stayed in either place but know Prague pretty well.
The Sheraton is near the edge of the Old Town and is an OK location and most places are walkable from there or are trams and Metros nearby to get you around.
There are 2 Marriots, the one on V Celnici is the Old Town one and it is just a very short walk from there to the Municiple house,Powder tower and old Town Square,I usually walk past it whenever I am in Prague (be there on 3rd sept)it is in my opinion a superb location.
The other Marriot is at the Flora Courtyard and is very close to a metro stop, not a bad location but not as good as V Celnici.

The Four Seasons is the best located 5-star in town. Three blocks to the Charles Bridge and three blocks to Old Town Square.

I disagree about the Four Seasons, if I went for a five star in Prague, I would pick the Mandarin Oriental. Better location, more interesting design. Plus the Mandarin Oriental has an Artel glass boutique, beautiful modern design, a break from the Bohemia crystal that's EVERYWHERE.
