Hotel in Brussels

Hi,

Can you guys recommend a good location for hotels in brussels? Its our first time, and we would like to be in a convenient location to the sight seeing places.

Thanks

It has been a couple of years since I have been to Brussels but the last time I was there I staid in the Hotel Amigo which is part of Rocco Forte's collection of hotels. The hotel is right of the Grand Place and is perfectly located for sight seeing. The hotel's rooms were very nice and the service was excellent. Based on my last stay, I can highly recommend it. If you are looking for a less expensive option, there was a Novotel Hotel that was relatively new (now probably 5 years old) also near the Grand Place. The hotel looked nice and might be a good choice as well. I was only in Brussels for a day but I enjoyed it very much. Have a good trip.

We have stayed at the Atlas Hotel twice now. It's about a 10 mins walk to the Grand Place and there are restaurants and cafes close by.

We caught a taxi to the hotel from Brussels Midi and it was about 10 euro, so not that far. Breakfast was buffet and they will make eggs etc to order, I think that costs extra though. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Stayed at the Conrad in Brussels. It was a very good experience and I would recommend it.

We also stayed at the Atlas hotel in 2002 and 2007. They have a good discount over the weekends.

I've had great fun at the Hotel Welcome just off St Catherine's. It's 10 minutes walk from the Grand Place.

Le Dixseptieme. Nice boutique hotel - 3 minutes walk from Central Station and 2 minutes walk from Grand Place.

I have to agree with bowdoin - the Hotel Amigo is in a wonderful spot. I stayed there twice and loved it.
It is in walking distance to the Grand Place as well as good restaurants and other sights.

The Amigo is definitely a good location. We walked past it many times in our wanderings. We stayed at Le Meridian, which is next to the central train station and a convinient location - the hotel was nice, although there is contruction around the front, so a temporary lobby has been set up. Not as convinient and comes with a bunch of stairs, but not terrible. We also stayed at the Royal Windsor the night before our flight home - very nice hotel and very convinient. I used Expedia for both and got them for around US$100 per night each.
