hotel help in vienna and salzburg

I'm thinking of staying in the Sheraton in Salzburg and Hotel Austria in Vienna. Has anyone stayed at either in the last year? Know if they are a good central location to the main attractions.
I had read that at the Sheraton breakfast is not included unless you are a member???

Thanks for the help!

I would stay in the Altstadt in Salzburg if I could. For some reason I think the Sheraton is across the river. You may want to check.

Thanks AisleSeat...I will check on the Altstadt. I believe the Sheraton sits right across from Mirabell Gardens.

The Sheraton is a 15 minute walk from the center of the old town. It is the closest Salzburg has to a convention hotel. Have never stayed there.

We stayed at the Hotel Austria in June. We had a room with three twin beds and one of those beds was in a seperate room with its own tv and minibar. We were very pleased with the hotel for our needs. The desk staff was very helpful and spoke beautiful English. Breakfast was terrific (much more than bread & jam) and very filling. The room was very tidy and the hotel is situated off the main road so it is rather quiet with the windows open. Our room didn't offer a tub but a very small enclosed shower. The only complaint we had was that there is no a/c but they did have two small oscillating fans available. There is free internet in the hotel lobby and bicycles available upon request. There is a taxi stand very convenient to the hotel (just around the corner) and we never saw it without available taxis. Public transportation is within a few minutes walk.

Do you have any specific questions regarding the hotel?
