hotel choice in Chaing Mai

I could use some help. I will be in Thailan at the end of Jan. I will travel to Chaing Mai. I was told the Regent is beautiful But way above my budget, The difference in price between that hotel and the others was huge. What is a good choice in Chaing Mai that's above economy and not as high as premimum
Thanks for the help

I stayed at the River View Lodge in January. Simple, but nice rooms and a friendly staff.
http://www.riverviewlodgch.com/index.htm

I stayed at the Amity Green Hills Hotel and it was excellent. They do cater to tour groups but this is not a problem if you traveling alone or as a couple. The hosts could not have been nicer and they will shuttle you to the night market. You can then come back at their set time or take a tuk tuk or taxi back.

Their buffet had a very good variety or you could order off a menu.

Since I was on a tour I'm not sure what the price is but I believe it's very reasonable.

What no one has bothered to tell you yet is that if you repost your question on the Asian Board you will receive a lot more information.
