Hotel Bleu Marine Montparnesse

This hotel is included in a vacation package.
Would you be concerned to stay near Gare Montparnasse? Is it a relatively safe area?
Any input would be appreciated as I have to book ASAP. Thanks.

The area is safe enough, but the street this hotel is on appears to run right next to the train tracks leading into Gare Montparnasse. You can undoubtedly do better, unless the package is a real steal.

The Montparnasse area is just fine - many great cafes (some of the famous ones) are near the Gare de Montparnassse, and the transportation options are wonderful. I love to stay in that area, but I don't know anything about that hotel. I have stayed in the Hotel Aviatic which is on Rue de Vaugirard not far from the Gare.

Thanks Shellio & Sue4 for your replies.
Checking the map it seems to be close to the Meridien Montparnasse a 4 star property but does not seem to have the railroad tracks adjacent. My concern was the safety of the area but you have allayed my concerns. Thanks

You can put the street name and 75014 as location into this site and see the street (looks very modern/commercial/office-bldg-like):

www.pagesjaunes.fr

Looks like Metro: Gaite will be the closest metro. Plenty of restaurants around the tower, blvd Montparnasse, etc.
You can walk to rue Daguerre market street for cafés, bakery goods, produce, etc.
You will be ok.

We just came back from a 1wk air & hotel pkg w/ Air Transat at the Hotel Bleu Marine. Location was great; yes it is close to the Montparnesse train station..about 7min walk to the hotel. We walked mostly everywhere; walks out to major streets with lots along the way.. and took the metro back to the hotel at night..typically after midnight. Hotel was very clean and is new from 2004.
