Hotel Arethusa

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Arethusa recently in Athens? The location seems great just wondering if anyone has any good or negative comments on this Hotel.

Lots of reviews on TA - tending to the middling/poor-ish. A few good reviews, but the majority, average/poor.

Thanks janisj. We were looking at this Hotel thought the location was good and price was 95-100 euros per night which is in our price range.

Any other hotels in that location that would fit our price point?

Vittoria:

There are several hotels on the same street or very close by to the Arethusa, all in the same general price range or for less. Check the Amazon, Pan, Athos, Metropolis, Hermes, Tempi and Omiros Hotels.

On the opposite side of Syntagma Square and a one minute stroll down a quiet side street is the Astor hotel. Noise isn't a problem, reasonable rates plus rooftop restaurant.

As always, check its reviews on Trip Advisor.

I can't find the Arethusa rates on its site but in July a double room at the Astor is 90e

I've only stayed at the Amazon (last June) and the room had been completely remodelled. Everything was fresh and new and the room, although small, was comfortable. My primary need was for close proximity to the Airport Bus and so I wasn't looking for anything special, just convenient and clean.
