Honeymoon Planning

We are planning our honeymoon and would appreciate some advice. We are planning to take two weeks in late October or early November. Our initial ideas include: Spain, Morrocco, Greece, or Turkey. Thank you.

What are your interests? Do you want to spend a lot of time on Mediterranean beaches? Sail around islands? See Moorish architecture? Visit cathedrals? Experience foreign cultures? How much do you want to travel around, versus staying in one to three places?

We took our honeymoon 2 years ago to Greece and turkey. We did a windsong sailboat cruise to the greek and turkish islands. We spend one night in athens before and 2 nights in istanbul afterwards. I loved all of the Greek islands we visited and Turkey was wonderful. So different than any other european country. We stayed at the Kempinski Intercontinental HOtel and CAstle in Istanbul( my memory is rusty) and across the water from the pool was Asia. Athens does not require more than 1 day, very hot in June and not a pretty city aside from the ancient ruins. I loved everything about the trip and the boat was amazing. Windstar Cruise Line, small boat(150 people or so), I get see sick usually ( no problems on this boat).

When I got married last year, we really appreciated the time at the beach. After the stress of planning the wedding and dealing with numerous issues, we wanted to relax and get away. The last thing we wanted was to deal with a city and crowds.
If you are going for 2 weeks, you might want to think about a relaxing beach in week 1 and then a city in week 2.
We also decided to go to Asia as it is unlikely that we would get there once kids come along. We felt that Europe could be visted in a week and given that we had two weeks, we wanted to go somewhere that would require more time.
Good luck!

My daughter planned her honeymoon the same as Lorraine reported but changed her plans to go to South Africa--safari, beaches, wineries, Sun City--she said it was spectacular.

Watch where you go in Spain, the basque separatists just bombed a few places in Malaga-Marbella in So. Spain.
