Honeymoon itinerary
Hi! I am getting married next may in tuscany. We will probably be around the chianti region(1 week). After the wedding we would like to spend a 1.5 weeks(on a budget) touring ???? Some ideas are a few days in Val d'orcia and a few more in rome. or a few days(3-4) in val d'orcia and then sardinia? after 1.5 of tuscany(wedding week in chianti and a few days after val d'orcia), I was thinking of something very different - like the mediterranean islands or coast. nothing touristy.
Thanks,
susan

Hmmmm -- nothing touristy? That elminates a lot of the places you've mentioned but leaves you with several very charming spots.
Get out a map of Italy and check out some of the lesser known Mediterranean islands off the Tuscan Coast, and check out the Tuscan coast itself. You should be able to find good deals there in May.

thank you. would anybody suggest visiting venice or rome instead of the coastline. we definitely plan on returning to italy and don't want to cram things but do want a change of scenery after tuscany. the mediterranean looks geogeous.
