Honeymoon Ideas?

My FI and I are planning a 10- to 11-day honeymoon in January 2010 and are looking for destination ideas. We have done the beach several times and so are looking for a place with sights to see and natural beauty. Someplace relaxing and fun. Any ideas?? Thanks!

The problem for Europe is Jan. I would go south--perhaps Argentina. In Europe, you could try Crete but it will still be chilly.

If you're saying you don't care about beach, the south of France is one idea. Lots of beauty, lots of good sightseeing and possibly warmish temps, but not likely beach weather.

Yeah, we were wanting someplace warm, but places like South Africa and Australia are a little too expensive for us. We were hoping to come up with a luxury trip for $6K-$8K total. So now we're sort of redirecting our focus to perhaps Europe or Asia. Cold certainly isn't ideal, but I think our options are limited. bobthenavigator, what are your thoughts on Argentina? Have you been? Any suggestions on places to stay or sights to visit?

Thailand is cheap and very interesting if you've never been to Southeast Asia. January weather is great.

No place in Europe is warm in Jan.
I have not been to Argentina but the prices are right and the weather is like July here.

Thanks for all the replies! We've decided to look at Ireland and Scotland. Appreciate the help.

Ireland and Scotland will definitely not be warm in January(!) but with the right clothes and itinerary I'm guessing could be both relaxing and fun.

Is that 6-8K usd EACH or for the pair of you?

BTW - Scotland will be freezing cold in January!
