honeymoon help - Positano and ???

We are planning to stay 5 nights on the Amalfi coast for our September honeymoon. I would like to stay in Positano for 3 nights, but not sure where else. What do you recommend? Thanks.

It really depends what you want to do, but I would consider the serene village of Ravello above the coast. The Villa Maria is very romantic. Others would argue that Capri is the choice--I find that a bit remote.

Hi,

Why would you want to pack up and move hotels? The AC is not so large that you can't visit all of the other towns from Positano.

Some people recommend staying overnight in Capri as being much better than a day trip.

You could do two nights in Naples before going to Positano.

The first time we were ever in Positano we took one look around and extended our stay to 6 nights and were happy with our decision. We have returned 3 or 4 times since. But if you do want to go to Capri, book at least one night there. Don't bother to go for a day trip.

I would recommend Ravello for at least two nights as it will give you a different taste of the Costiera Amalfitana, especially when most of the day trip tourists have departed.

I would recommend Capri for two nights, esp. if you've never been. You'll be in heaven if you're a shopper ( although that wasn't why I wanted to go) and like it even better after the hordes of daytrippers have left in the evening, when the true beauty of the island is revealed, and everyone is out for the evening stroll. It's quite a scene, memorable, and worth a visit.

Last July,we stayed at Hotel Luna, which is a short walk from the main piazzetta, and was quite sumptious. We had two large rooms overlooking the coast, and very much enjoyed the spectacular swimming pool area. Other hotels often recommended on this forum for Capri include: Casa Morgano, and Villa Brunella.

Good luck, and have a great time in Positano, which is one of my favorite places on Earth!

Would also recommend Ravello. We stayed in Positano for two nights and Ravello for two nights during our honeymoon in October. We really enjoyed Ravello....amazing views from the gardens at Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone should not be missed. Enjoy!
