I haven't been to Greece in mid-April, but I have been to Corsica at that time - definitely not warm.

Crete is further south and might be warmer. Another option might be resorts on the coast in Turkey, toward the south.

Do you have any flexibility regarding the start date of your honeymoon? For a couple of reasons (including your wish to have a resort holiday in Europe), you might consider postponing the honeymoon for 2 weeks. Mr frogoutofwater and I did this a few years ago and it worked out really well. It meant that in the last couple of weeks before the wedding, when everything is really hectic with last minute tasks, all we had to focus on was getting organized for the wedding. We were exhausted afterward, but got over that exhaustion "on company time" - i.e. while being paid to work normal days. We both went back to work almost immediately (I think I took the Monday morning off after the Saturday night wedding.)

During the ten days between our wedding and honeymoon, we caught up on our sleep and got organized for our honeymoon (which took some last-minute organizing, since we were going to be away for a month, go hiking and diving, and change hotels and cities every couple of days). We also enjoyed the opportunity to see a little more of family members who had flown out for the wedding and stayed until early in the week following the wedding. When we left for our honeymoon, we were refreshed and ready to travel and had got a lot taken care of at home.

If you delayed your honeymoon for 2 weeks, you'd be two weeks closer to warmer weather in Europe - and that could make a significant difference.

I totally agree with the advice above. We just returned last week from Santorini, where the beach was chilly in the late afternoon and the water was too cold to swim in.

Note that the TA reviews of Il Pelicano are 3 years old.

If you do not care about swimming in the sea, the weather should be excellent anywhere on the Italian coast.

Did you look at the Splendido in Portofino? They have some pretty good price breaks before June 5..

You could combine with either Como or Rome..

It looks like we will have to move the wedding date to March 28th because April 11th is Easter weekend...

I would love to do Como, but will it be nice if it's chilly? I will look into Turkey.

I realize that a beach vacation is probably out. Are there any places you all recommend that would be fun and romantic to go to? I'd like to go somewhere new... How about Vienna? Should we forget the Greek Islands since it will be chilly? Any other fun/romantic ideas? I'd prefer not to do Italy or France, since i've been already.

I'm confused. In your first post, you ask about hotels in France, Spain or Italy. You get tons of responses. And now you decide to eliminate Italy and France because you have "been there?"

For truly the best in a Luxury experience in Italy, Hotel Romazzino, Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast) Sardinia. You will be treated like a sophisticated, knowledgable, traveller who knows what quality and service are all about. Food is excellent. The hotel is frequented by many of Milan's fashion elite, and they expect a first rate stay every time they are there.

I was considering Italy or France (but not an area that i've been to). My wedding was going to be late-may, so i was going to consider Northern Italy. Now that the wedding may be in March, i'm afraid it will be too chilly for Norther ITaly or France in early April. Than't why I've changed focus.
