First, congratulations. Second, as I suspect I will be the first of many to suugest, you are really stressing yourselves out to try to do so much in so little time.
Have you thought of either France or Italy (and saving the other for an anniversary)? Two weeks including travel time is not enough to do justice to both, IMHO.
Frankly for honeymooners (who are generally pretty tired after all that wedding effort), you might want to cut a trip to Italy down to one, or at most two, cities and veg out a nice country-side villa and explore Tuscany or Umbria.
Venice, Rome and Florence in 9 days with travel between is heavy going even if you haven't just spent 6 months negotiating the tensions of wedding-wear, patterns and bridesmaids...if its that kind of wedding. If not, I apologize for stereo-typing but the advice still stands.

Hi J2,
It's a lot better than many we have seen, and quite doable.
However, you will be in Paris for only two nights and then you will take an overnight train to Venice. This is really not enough time for Paris, and you will not be at your best the first day in Venice.
I agree with LJ. Make this a trip to Italy and do Paris in the future.
Depending on when you are going, the time could be spent on the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany or Cinque Terre.
So:
Fly into Venice, go to Florence, train to Naples or Salerno for the AC, train to Rome.
Sorry, can't help with your hotels.

Thank you for your insight - the only reason that we are going to Paris - is because we got the best airline tickets into paris than any Italian city. We both have been to Paris in the past - so we will not be doing very heavy sight seeing.
I have not found many reviews on the Hotel Relais Cavalcanti - any info?
Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,
Ooohh - Aahhh! Looks like a fun trip to me. Some will suggest you are trying to cover too much territory, but that all depends on how you plan to spend your time in each city.
You don't indicate the season you'll be travelling, so this may not be of interest, but in Rome - Hotel Duca D'Alba - ask for a room on the 4th floor, preferably 401, 402 or 403. They all have small terraces (actually I think the terraces on 401 & 402 are larger than 403). There is another room on the 4th floor, but its terrace is on the back side of the building and from what we could see from the hallway, its view was questionable.
If your stay in Florence includes a Sunday & Monday, and your plans include museums, pay close attention to their schedules. Some alternate closing days by week.
Could you fly from Paris to Venice for comparable money? It would cost an extra hotel night in Venice, but a worthwhile expense.
Best wishes for a most enjoyable honeymoon and in your new married life.
