One of my lifetime dreams is to attend Wimbledon once. Do any Of the U.K. forum posters know of any honest London ticket brokers or have access to the classified ads/or where I could locate them. I am in Florida. I have heard travel and sales are down but I am also told one must have "debenture tickets" vs "nondebenture tickets" and the prices in the States are more than my airline ticket over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

try checking out ticketmaster in london...i have had very good luck with them for theatre tickets..

there are other ways to get into wimbledon. You can queue up outside (get there very early) for general admission tickets, this gets you into all the courts apart from the show courts.

THe alternative is to buy debenture seats (these are transferrable), but as you have found out extremely costly.

These are all sold through brokers, you will find their ads in The times, Daily Telegraph and magazines such as the Spectator. By and large they are reliable (they aren't doing anything illegal or underhand).

I know quite a few people who have got in (I live near the courts) by hanging around at about 4pm and getting the tickets off people as they are leaving.

I am assuming that you don't mean AFC Wimbledon here...

I was lucky enough to find a broker last year near the Tube station who had debenture tix for sale. My seatmate, who had also purchased from him, was a local who has used this method many times.

The cost was pretty expensive for one day at Wimbledon, but IIRC it was no more than 150-200$, and I'm reasonably certain that its a "once in a lifetime" event for me. The debenture ticket got me reserved seating on Court 2, access to the Debenture Holders Lounges (which came in handy during the rains) and I was able to pass it on to a group of post teenage girls to share after I had to leave.

All in all, if I was a serious tennis fan, I'd try this route again. It was easy, painless (except for the $$!), and the guy who sold them to me was on the up and up. Good luck!! Best wishes, Dave
