Holy Week in Paris

Unfortunately will have only four days in Paris, 4/7 - 4/11. Flying out on Easter Sunday. I will have my 17 yr old with me - where should we stay so as to walk to the "must see" sights. Not wanting posh accomodations, prefer quaint and inexpensive. Looking to experience Paris and have the wonderful memories that you all talk about - Help!

Anywhere on the Left Bank around the Latin Quarter area and the Sorbonne area will be within strolling distance of many mega sights - Louvre, Orsay, Notre-Dame Cathedral, etc.

Thanks PalenQ - I was stuck on whether to stay on the Left or Right Bank. Appreciate the suggestion!

Well the Right Bank within several blocks of the Seine would be just as centrally located - i should have said anywhere around the Seine between Notre-Dame and the Place Concord or so. There are zillions of hotels on the left bank in this area but not nearly as many on the Right Bank i believe. But i'd say anything within a mile or so radius of the Louvre is a great location to walk to many sights

I was able to get an apartment on the Left Bank about 500 meters from Notre-Dame. Now I'm looking for recommendations for evening places that we can go to where my 17 yr old daughter will fit in. A place to go after dinner for some music and some after dinner drinks. Any suggestions?

Caveau des Oubliettes. 52 rue Galande in the Latin Quarter. Both of you will be comfortable there (I went with my daughter when she was in college). Music every night at 10 PM in the basement. The bar upstairs has a real guillotine. Lots of young people. Get in line to go downstairs before 10 if you want to make sure you get a seat when they open the door to the basement. Free entry; I think there was a one drink minimum. www.caveaudesoubliettes.com
