Hip Central Andulusia Hotel-CasaCinco?
My husband and I may go to Spain on our next vacation-we would spend half our time in a flat in El Born, Barcelona (Into Barcelona apartments) and the other half in a central hotel in Andulusia. I want to be able to stay in one place and travel to all the main cities within a 2 hour drive. I was thinking of CasaCinco in Vejer (Costa de la Luz)-does anyone know if this is a hotel within a daytrip to say, Granada and Seville? Does anyone know of any other chic/hip hotels less than $150 that may be more localized? Also, if anyone knows of the same type of hotel for an overnight trip to Tangier...that would help too! Thanks!

What does "half-the time" means?
In Andalucia, I would suggest staying in Seville. If you have more than three days, then pick up a rental car and head out to Cordova, Granada, Ronda, etc...
Another question: why do you want to stay overnight in Tangier? I would only visit Tangier if part of a group, and then I would visit and get out of there in a hurry. Dingy and dirty town, just an honest opinion.

Shelly-- what does modern means to you? Is it running water? or internet connections? A/C? I stayed at a high-tech hotel near Barajas Airport that was all gadgets, including a very interesting shower. So please advise what do you mean by modern.
You are probably going to need a car if staying in Vejer de la Frontera. Are you planning on a car? Casa Cinco is a countryside hotel (it is actually reconstructed from a Moorish house, open central courtyard and all). It is not a great place to home base to daytrip to both, Seville and Granada.
Seville is a great place to home base to explore the Andalucia western region with day trips to Cadiz, Ronda, Merida, Cordova. If I were you, after a couple of days in Seville, rent a car in bus station Estacion Santa Justa and head out; Route of White Towns, Cordova, Merida, Cadiz, Ronda, Jerez, Caceres...tons of possibilities every direction out of Seville. Marbella is where I would home base to explore the eastern Andalucia Region; Malaga, Granada, Mijas, Gibraltar, other White Towns. Leave something for the return trip. I've been to Spain many times and there are still sooooo many places I still need to go see! Enjoy Spain!!

Costa de Luz to Granada is not a day trip! If you want to stay in one location and visit several towns you will need to stay inland.
We stayed at a small modern hotel outside Ronda run by a charming Dutch couple called Fuenta del Higuera:

It isn't quite as isolated as it looks on the pictures but is quiet. Ronda is reasonably well located for most of the key cities but even then for example it will be a good 3 hours to Granada by car.
You may be better off moving around
