Help with these Loire hotels?
We will be in Loire Valley in late September. We're traveling with my elderly parents, so we need a place with gentle access. Either ground floor rooms or access to a lift. No huge steps into hotel (a few are just fine). The other must is a bathroom with a shower (not just a bathtub). I'm thinking it would be nice to have a hotel where we could come back to for a nice dinner, but it's not mandatory.
Here's what we're looking at now. Let me know your thoughts on these, or others we may have missed.
1. Chateau des Ormeaux (120E)
2. Auberge de Launay (65)
3. Le Fleuray Hotel (78-115E)
Thanks, annieladd

We ate dinner at La Roseraie in Chenonceaux...the food was marvelous. I have since seen rave reviews for the hotel attached. It is the #1 hotel according to Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...ux_Centre.html

We stayed at Le Fleuray and loved it! This was the hotel we chose for our first night in France and it was great with the pool and the wonderful dinner out in the garden.
We met a family that stayed there for the week and were thrilled with their choice! Many ground floor rooms. I believe there was a shower but send them an e-mail or give them a call. The owners are very helpful and nice.
Cheers!

Hi Annieladd:
I think that I am the poster who suggested the Auberge de Launay. I know it is only 65 Euros per night, but it is a wonderful small hotel. The owners used to work at the Savoy Hotel in London; their English is flawless. They are truly nice people and excellent chefs. The dinners they serve are exquisite and feature dishes and foods that are specialties in the Loire.
The rooms are modern with bathrooms equipped with tubs with showers. You can park directly in front of your room; this should help your parents. The floors in our room were hardwood. The television had BBC available.
The hotel is located in a small village near Amboise. The gardens were lovely in late March when we were there and should be much better in September. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden in the evening (benches are available) and drinking a glass of wine.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
