help with quick/short trip to edinburgh
Help..need to make quick reservations. Going next weekend to Edinburg(from London) for 2 nights..will be using train, but looking for nice convenient hotel..2 couples..Caledonian a little pricy..looking at the Roxburghe or the George..thoughts/opinions? Believe the George is under some construction

The Caledonian was nice and I wouldn't take anything for that experience, I agree they charge more in pounds than I prefer to pay in dollars. That said, if you are only staying two nights it might still be a good deal.
Hilton's lesser known hotel the Grovsner is OK and less pricy. It is accros the street from the Haymarket train station and then on a dozen bus routes that whisk you one mile into town. It doesn't look like they have openings on Saturday for two couples though.
What is going on next Saturday. Most of the hotels are full, or are asking full-Festival period prices?
Edinburgh is very compact. Whereever you are you will be close to something. The public transportation is very good.
