help with paris hostels

We will be in Paris in May 2004 and need some recommendations for a good hostel. Any thoughts?

Try bugeurope.com - Lots of hostel reviews there.

telly this forum is not big on hostels. But go to thelonelyplanet.com on the euro branch of the thorn tree. there's a good group there.

You might look into a budget hotel. In Paris, this is often as cheap as two hostel beds. Look at the Hostels forum at Eurotrip.com/forum - hotels are also discussed there, and there have been several threads on cheap Paris hotels and hostels lately.

I could name a few, but it would be hearsay, not from firsthand experience (MIJE, AIJ, YOung & Happy, and BVJ on rue des Bernardins in the Latin Qtr.--all have pretty good locations). Here is one link with a list of most hostels, although it is a little out-of-date and doesn't have some new private ones (which are more like really cheap hotels):

Aside from above ideas, I think there are reviews on www.hostels.com

Hi telly,
I haven't stayed in a Paris hostel, but one of my tourist guides recommends MIJE Fauconnier, look here, for example http://www.bugeurope.com/cgi-bin/rms...duct-sku=fr049.
I actually walked by it while touring that part of the 4th, and I can tell you I think it's a great area.
Have a good trip.

Hello Telly,
I can advise you the Hotel de l'Exposition**, located in the 10th district.
It's a very clean hotel, with quite big rooms, not expensive and located near the metro.
Their website is: http://www.hotel-exposition.com
Have a nice trip in Paris!
