Help with Paris flat rental

Hello,

My fiance and I will be in Paris April 22-30, 2011 for our honeymoon. We are interested in renting a flat for the eight nights. This is our first trip to Paris, so we want to stay somewhere close to the touristy activities, but we also want to be near cafes, etc. (a bit of a nightlife, perhaps). Our budget is $90-130/night. Here are a few we are considering:

http://www.vrbo.com/334606

http://www.vrbo.com/30917

http://www.vrbo.com/239835

http://www.vrbo.com/258855

http://www.vrbo.com/133081

http://www.vrbo.com/20279

http://www.vrbo.com/71990

Any thoughts on good areas to stay or opinions on the flats above would be very helpful! Many Thanks!!!!

For your first trip to Paris, I would choose 20279,71990, or 133081. The location of these is perfect IMO. You are steps away from many of the attractions, the Metro, and such a lively area at night. What could be more romantic than a walk along the Seine after dinner with live music everywhere?

Again, just my opinion, but the others are too far away from the Seine. You want to be as close to Notre Dame on the Left Bank as possible.

3346060 - Fold out couch. Honeymoon.
30917 - bed is pretty small. Price is likely in budget, IF high season rates aren't significantly higher.
239835 - looks pretty good, price is in budget.
258855 - also on myparisvisit.com. It's once again a fold out bed. That site has several flats and it is very easy to search using the drop down boxes for date, size, etc.
133081 - top end of your budget with a futon on the Mezzanine or a fold out bed.
20279 - really nice. Double your budget.
71990 - smallish bed, again, and at the higher end of your budget.

Of the one's you've posted, I'd keep looking. The www.myparisvisit.com site (linked thru #258855 or directly) has numerous flats that are mostly in the 1st-4th Arr. close to the Seine. Their #23 is on the high end of your budget, but is nice, and close to the Seine.

I've rented twice from www.vacationinparis.com, the second time in three weeks. They have numerous properties, located in the U.S., pay in dollars, and my dealings with them have been great.

Try searching "Paris apartment" in the search box. The used to be a large "superthread" here on Paris apts., but I couldn't find it quickly, sorry. The search above will give you numerous sites to consider as well.

I'd move quickly, though, you're short on time for an April rental. The selection will be limited, but you'll find something you'll certainly enjoy.

Hi! My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Paris in October 2009. We rented a 1 bedroom apartment in the 4th (Rue St. Paul) and we are going back again in March and renting in the 6th. The first time we rented this apartment: http://www.rentalfrance.com/index.ph...on=rue-st-paul . It was a great price, and the bed was nice and big! The location was wonderful also, the 4th is really great. For March we rented this room http://www.parisbestlodge.com/studiocallot.html . I wanted to stay in the 6th this time around.

My advice is to make sure you have at least a Queen size bed. Don't go for a pull-out or a double. This is your honeymoon and you want to be comfortable. Also keep an eye on what flight the apartment is on. Many buildings don't have elevators. The Rue St. Paul apartment was on the 4th floor walk-up, but it wasn't a problem for us. Make sure the apartment has reviews, I wouldn't feel comfortable renting without a review. And book SOON, the good ones will be booking up REALLY fast for your dates. Some of the most popular apartments book up a year in advance.

Good luck and enjoy! Paris is amazing!!
