Hi, I would second a lot of posters and suggest you book a hotel. When I stayed in Paris (albeit a couple of years ago, we used http://www.turquoise.co.uk/ which has lots of good deals. Through them we booked at the Ibis Paris Bastille Faubourg Saint Antoine in the middle of the Bastille area, nice and central. It's close to a metro and there are lots of great eating places nearby. have a look at the Ibis website they have special offers for a 3 night stay, not sure if it applies to June though.

we stayed at the Claude Bernard in the 5th this past summer - they had some special rates including breakfast (a big breakfast buffet with very good variety!), a good bit under $200 a night. We then switched to Hotel Duquesne-Eiffel in the 7th. For $200 we had a gorgeous room with a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower (breakfast not included). Definitely worth it. Both had A/C and elevatators, and were just a few blocks from the metro. I would recommend either and reviewed them on TripAdvisor.

Hotel Castex in the Marais is ac and in a good location near the Bastille metro stop with several lines and bus 69 goes past (actually through) the Louvre and on to the Eiffel tower.

have you checked to see how much it's going to cost to change your airline tickets? I'm thinking that could be a considerable amount.

we liked this place, it's near the Sorbonne. I can't remember about air conditioning. i'm thinking it did because it was hot when we were there, and the room was very comfortable, but I can't see mention of it on the website.

the best deal we found was through Travelocity - it will allow you to pick your accomodations as well as give you a guarantee....I go for the first time next week - TWO WHOLE WEEKS! Our trip was extremely affordable, so I hope this helps!

HI,

I just got home from Paris this weekend and highly recommend the Royal Hotel Magda situated a 5 min walk from the Arc De Triomphe. The hotel is great clean and well renovated, has AC and excellent service. I cant recommend it highly enough.

BigT - Thanks for that hotel Magda reccommendation, Ideal! What I liked was there was a Chinese restuarant & Japanese in the same street. How I love Asian food!

and if you feel like spending big bucks then Guy Savoy is across the road!
actually the Chinese restaurant was nice, the Japanese looked very quiet and there seemed to be a nice mid range French restaurant next door to the hotel.

Cheers,
T
