Another manner is to drive from Marseille and go towards Lyon. There's lots of good food and superb wines along the Rhone valley. At Lyon, turn left and drive towards St.Etienne. From that keep driving west until you hit the road (A75 I think) which goes toward Millau. The viaduct is very beautiful. There's a small toll to use the viaduct but it's not too much. When you pass that area, there's still lots of good wines you'll pass.

Don't forget you can try the Rochefort cheese in that area.

Get a Michelin book for the top restaurants along this route.

This route will give you enough time to enjoy your visit and don't spend too much time driving.

True. It is also very high and very long.

Not recommended if you have problems with high bridges.
