Help with hotels in the Veneto - Bassano, Bergamo, Ferrara
I can't decide between the Agnello d'Oro or the Hotel Belvedere in Bergamo. Has anyone stayed at either one, and can you describe it? In Ferrara, the Hotel Annunziata sounds nice and I've read good things about the Hotel Ripagrande. Anyone? In Bassano del Grappa, I'm thinking about the Belvedere. Any and all comments and advice welcomed.
Thanks. Barb

Don't know the Belvedere, but stayed here in March 2000:
Albergo (Hotel) Al Castello
Via Bonamigo 36061
Bassano del Grappa
Tel: 011 39 042.422.8665
Fax: 011 39 042.422.8665
(from a previous post) - - no e-mail that I know of, but maybe they have one now.
Best wishes,
Rex

It's in Bassano del Grappa - - not Bergamo. No citta alta there.
And as for describing it - - well, it was on "okay" place. I remember the rooms being scattered over an oddly constructed building. A pleasant caretaker, and nothing particularly good nor bad otherwise.
Sorry if you require more detail than my memory can muster.
I do remember Ottone (restaurant - - though it may have been called "Birreria" - sure didn't seem like a Birreria to me). Charming and romantic - - or was I just in a good mood? We (family of two of our daughters and three of their friends) ate somewhere else for dinner and my wife and I went afterwards on our own
for dessert and a nightcap.
I can't rule out this being a case of rose-colored nostalgia.
