Help w/ Weekend Trip from rome ...
My husband and I will be at a week long conference in rome which will include tons of sightseeing, we want to spend a nice weekend in a more relaxing place for three nights prior... flying in or out of rome. Was thinking amalfi coast or capri but seems very hard to get to w/ public transport and we will have a lot of luggage (b/c business attire) and so expensive for car service, any suggestions for easier transportation or another location?

So you aren't planning on renting a car and you want to get somewhere via public transport?
In that case, no matter where you go, you will have to manage with your luggage to the train/bus station and then take a taxi from the station to your hotel. I don't think managing the public transport to the Amalfi Coast is going to be that much more involved -- there might be one additional change of transport, but depending on the time of year and method of travel, it might be easier than wherever else you may be going.

Hello lisa, if it would be convienent after your weekend trip to return to the hotel where you will be staying during the conference you might want to think about asking your hotel to hold a lot of your luggage while you are on your weekend trip. We did that with our hotel in Naples when we went to Capri for ten nights. Best regards.

We are willing to pay up to 400 euros for hotel/night in amalfi/capri for something nice but when I looked up a car service from rome airport to positano and saw 450 euros each way, so over 1000$ transportation-- I said no way.... doesnt have to be a beach just somewhere relaxing to walk around, dine, enjoy,
