HELP!!! Train from Munich to Wasserburg??

Hello all,

I am visiting a friend in Wasserburg Germany this weekend and he's been very difficult to reach this week as I prepare to leave. While he had initially planned to meet me at the Munich airport, it now looks as though I am on my own in trying to navigate the best way to get to Wasserburg. He sent me a link for the train schedule, but it doesn't function, so I am stuck.

Anyone from Munich? Can you tell me how to get from the airport to central Wasserburg by train? Seems that providing links to the DB Bahn schedules doesn't work and I need to conduct a new search with nothing more than his address to go on. Is there a train from the airport?

I leave Friday morning and I'm already lost!

Thanks.

There's more than one option, but the most likely is.
- Buy ticket at airport. Deutsche Bahn information is located at area z where you go down for the S-Bahn trains.
- Take S8 S-Bahn train from Airport to München Ost (also called Ostbahnhof)
- From there take S4 to Ebersberg or a regional train to Salzburg. Leave train at Grafing Bahnhof.
- From Grafing Bahnhof, there are regional trains to Wasserburg.

Ticket cost 14.60€ (DB ticket from the airport to Wasserburg), don't buy an MVV-Ticket as this will cost a little more and you would also need an extra DB Ticket for the journey from Grafing Bahnhof to Wasserburg.

Thanks!!!! Very helpful.

Is this a single ticket or will I need a separate ticket for each leg of the trip?

Wasserburg am Inn or Wasserburg am Bodensee? Sorry for smartassing, but check your train connections carefully as there are two towns with this name.

Schedules don´t work because the sessions are not saved. However the travel planner works perfectly - you simply have to enter the data yourself.

To: Wasserburg (see quokka´s reply - which one?)

>single ticket
DB ticket will be a single ticket.
Buy it at the airport.

Should you buy a MVV ticket, this will only take you to Grafing Bahnhof and you'll need an extra ticket from there.
