Help-Saturday Dinner Reservation for 7 in Venice

I'm hoping someone can help me with some restaurant suggestions that won't break the bank. But I know that Venice is expensive. Here are the details:

Need a dinner reservation for a party of 7 on Saturday August 22nd at 8pm.
Need someplace that is casual and kid friendly (4 adults, 2 thirteen & 1 eight) and as close to our hotel as possible: Centurion Palace Dorsoduro, 173, Dorsoduro, 30123 Venice, Italy

Family of 5 will be coming in from Barcelona that afternoon and meeting their two nannies for family dinner in Venice and then the three kids will go with nannies to resort in Jesolo. So not looking to splurge on this meal. It is just to meet/touch base and exchange the kids.

Thank you.

Taverna San Trovaso! Its close to your hotel, kid friendly, something for everyone, and won't break the bank.

The only snafu would be if they (or other recs) are closed that time of year. Some places close for parts of August. You could call, or have your hotel check it out.

For a back up you can try Do Farai in Dorsoduro. It's a 15 minute walk from your hotel, in between Ca'Rezzonico and the University Ca'Foscari. The absolutely simplest way to get there -- no chance of getting lost -- is to take a vaporetto, but it is walkable. You'd need a reservation. Basically a seafood menu, but I am sure they'd work to accommodate the kids if they don't eat seafood.

Your hotel has a nice restaurant, the kids are yours so you are feeding the nannies? I would think that would be easy. Off load them there at the hotel.

Thanks for the suggestions, they are just what I was looking for. I sent an inquiry to both Do Farai and San Trovaso.

flpab - yes there is a nice restaurant at the hotel, and it would be easy. I think maybe a bit too nice for the occasion though. I'm actually doing this leg work for my boss so I will let him know this is a convenient but pricier option and let him choose. Thank you.

That makes better sense. A pricey hotel and nannies and you were worried about dinner..

Maybe a bit down market, But the Ae Oche pizza place on the Zattere might work for you.

Think say 15 to 18 euro per person.

This place is great for a family and children. The pizzas are fantastic and the views .... just incredible especially when the big cruise ships glide by.

CasIn dei Nobile is a good call. They have a sister resteraunt just off Campo san Barnaba which is also good, family friendly, (but not a childrens menu french fries sort of place). We have eaten there several times, never been dissapointed.

Also called Casin dei Nobile.
