HELP! Paros (Greece) Hotels?

Looking for a fabulous hotel in Paros for the last stretch of my honeymoon (we're going to crete for four days and santorini for four days). I want a place in Naoussa that is on the beach and just looks fabulous. I was originally thinking the Kosmitis Hotel, but something about the pictures just isn't doing it for me. I was also thinking the Pension Sofia, but I want more of a beachy feel, I think. I was also considering the Astir of Paros, but there are some bad reviews on tripadvisor. Also considering Antirides, but it looks like it could get crowded.

I'm looking for a nice place and am willing to pay up to about $300.

Should I give up and just stay in Santorini for those three days? Is there hope on Paros?

thanks so much! i've been researching this for hours and hours!!!

Hi

Congratulations on your pre nuptials. Well Santorini is the honeymoon island but the beaches are better on Paros. Take a look at Galatis Hotel - http://www.galatishotel.gr. I didn't stay there but the owner was personable and let me look around. What I loved about it is that it's right on the beach. So you have the pool then the ocean. That's rare! The hotel is located at Aliki - a beautiful and quiet beach area with some good tavernas nearby. It's advisable to hire some transport. I hired a little Fiat Seicento with a sun roof for around €30 a day. It was heaps of fun. Hired from Acropolis Car Hire on the Parikia waterfront. No complaints. You can see my photos of Aliki and the rest of Paros here - http://s62.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Greece/Paros/

Good luck for the future.

I see from another of your posts you will be traveling in late August. The week around Aug 15th (Greek holiday) is the busiest time on the islands, but things begin to quiet down by the end of the month. Aliki is a small quiet resort, and, as worldinabag said, has hotels near the beach.

Naoussa has many more hotels and restaurants, so if you want something more lively that would be a good choice. The best beaches around Naoussa (including Kolymbithres) are reached by small boat from the harbor, and the best hotels are located in Naoussa itself. In other words, don't look for a hotel right on the beach.

If finding a hotel right on the beach is a must, you would be better off going to Naxos and staying in either St George or Agio Prokopios.

Whatever you do, don't "give up and just stay in Santorini for those three days." Paros and Naxos are completely different from Santorini, and I think you would enjoy the contrast.

We loved Naoussa and stopped in to look at Astir of Paros. It looks beautiful and probably will stay there next time we go to Paros. We preferred Paros to Santorini.

We are staying at Stelia Mare in Naoussa after our stay in Santorini. It is near the beach and it also has a nice sized pool, although, I doubt we'll lounge at the pool given the beautiful beaches at Paros. You can check out the hotel's website for pictures and a description. So far, the owner has been very pleasant and extremely helpful in our email correspondence. It is also within your price range.

Good luck!
