help Orvieta to Venice
My family will be staying at Locanda Rosati in Orvieta this month. I would love any suggestions as to what there is to do in this area- two teenagers will be along.
After three nights at Locanda Rosati, we will drive to Venice. Does anyone know how long a drive this will be? We will be travelling on a Sunday. Thank You

Try viamichelin.com but its about a 4 hour drive and you'll park at the garage outside Venice. By the time you get to your final destination in Venice you're probably talking 5 plus hours. While you could take the whole day and see things along the way you may want to consider alternative transportation (ie; train) since you of course don't need a car in Venice.

Hi Nancy,
Orvieto is a nice place from which to visit Rome. You can take the train.
You might find this link helpful for smaller towns

If Venice is your final destination, I also suggest taking the train.

I agree with the Assisi idea - and you could hit Todi either going or returning. As for Lake Bolsena (I'm afraid that was another spelling mistake) there are plenty of vineyards in that direction and the Orvieto cathedral is actually built around a relic from the "Bolsena Miracle" - ask about it in Orvieto.
