Help, no email from Trenitalia with PNR number!
Two days ago I successfully (or so I thought) bought a train ticket on the Trenitalia website for travel from Verona to Rome September 2nd. I got it for only 27 Euro. Yeah! However, I have not received the email from them with the PNR number. As I understand it, without it, I essentially do not have a ticket.
I did print out the summary with Retrieval Code. Yesterday, I went back to the Trenitalia site and requested another email using a different address - my gmail account. Still no email back from them with the required PNR number. I keep checking my inbox as well as spam. No luck in either.
What do I do now? When in Italy, can I go to a train station for assistance? Fortunately I will be in Italy for 10 nights before traveling down to Rome.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Am I incorrect in thinking that if you have a RETRIEVAL CODE all you need to do is go to a ticket machine in ANY station, input that code after you tell the machine you are RETRIEVING tickets and the ticket will print out?????

Check your credit card and make sure the payment processed (your credit card might reject the purchase).
An attempt to change emails mid-stream may flub things more.
If you bought your ticket without being registered, you can retrieve your ticket filling in your name, surname and Code for retrieving the purchase (CRA) that appears on the post -payment page.

Dukey - Retrieval code and PNR aren't the same. The OP could get a screen with the retrieval code and then after the payment processes, an email with the PNR. If the payment didn't process, then likely no email. It's also possible the email got snagged in the OP's email provider's spam filter (or the OP's spam filter). I try to use gmail for things in Europe as I have better luck with it.

Thank you all for your responses! Fodorites really come through in a pinch!
I spent quite some time today going all over the Trenitalia site trying to find my PNR number utilizing my retrieval code. No luck! Checked with AMEX and the charge went through. So, no problem there. Finally, I put my gmail email address in again and voila!..... a email came through almost immediately with my PNR number and a "ticket" which I have printed out. Whew!
I'm thinking the first time I didn't receive the email was because my primary address ends in .net as bvlenci noted. I have no idea why the second time I used my gmail address, it worked. But, it did! Lesson learned. I'll be using my gmail account from now on although I've never had a problem pre-booking train tickets in France.
Now I can go back to doing all the fun things like looking for good restaurants! Only 4 more months! Italy here I come!

I am having the same issue. The purchase is pending on my credit card. I never received the confirmation email with the PRN code - and I have tried so many things to get it sent to me. I've filled out complaint forms in both English and Italian (using Google Translate). I've used my recovery code to have the info resent to me, to several different email addresses (none of them .net) using a couple different browsers. I've left a voice mail at their call centre. Nothing. I'm this close to just reversing the charge on my credit card and trying again. (I did see somewhere that people had problems when you enter in an email address for every individual for whom you are purchasing tickets. I did this. Perhaps I can try again w/o doing that.)

After many, many messages left to the international call centre number and many unanswered emails, someone finally answered the phone at the call centre, and all is resolved on my end. Whew! (They never were able to get the code to email to my gmail account. They just gave it to me verbally, and I could enter it into the "manage your tickets" area.)
