Help needed to get from UK to Budapest!
Hello all, I am trying to get from Aberdeen, Scotland to Budapest. There are no direct flights, and all the flights I have found have long layovers. I am looking at taking the train to London and flying from there, but if there is an easier way I'd appreciate knowing about it!
I can potentially fly out of any airport in the UK and am willing to take a combination of planes and trains if that is the quickest route. Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to get from the UK to Budapest? Thanks!

Jet2 www.jet2.com fly direct from Manchester to Budapest. I don't know if any of the other low cost airlines fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

What do you mean by "long layovers"?
Tomorrow's 0605 to Amsterdam is supposed to connect with a flight to Budapest that leaves 65 minutes later. Most people would worry about missing the connection.
And there's any number of other flights with 3 hours or less connection time at Heathrow, de Gaulle or Copenhagen.
Go to www.nonrev.net and look.

Sorry, to clarify, a lot of the flights I noticed (especially the cheaper ones) have layovers that esentially make travel time about 8-10 hours. I know that a 3 hour layover isnt that long, but when you are just trying to fly to Budapest for a 4 day weekend, those 3 hours really cut into our time actually in Budapest. That said, I realize that there might not be any other way. We are now looking at a flight from Aberdeen-Amsterdam-Budapest that is 6 hours (slightly more reasonable) but quite expensive - over $500 CAD. I guess perhaps this is the easiest/fastest/cheapest way...

There aren't any easy cheap ways to get from Aberdeen to Budapest
You could try fiddling with flights from Aberdeen to somewhere else - www.whichbudget.com/en/cheapflights.php?from=ABZ - and see if you can match it with flights from somewhere else to Budapest - http://www.whichbudget.com/en/cheapflights.php?to=BUD
Personally I think you you rethink your plans and go somewhere else that's easier to get to
