Help, need Rome Hotel near Train Startion

Had no idea that it would be so hard to find a 2 star hotel near the Train station in Rome. We arrive late, and leave the next day, so don't want to spend the big bucks. Need it in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try Hotel Magic:

Very close to the station. Nice ladies who run it.

It used to be in the Rick Steve's book and if it is still is, they may be full too.

Hi

Well, if you can't find a 2 star hotel I can recommend the 3 star Bettoja Hotel Nord Nuova. My wife and I stayed there last year when we went to Rome. I have posted a review of the hotel on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com/nord_hotel_rome_italy.htm

Regards

Have you tried venere.com? It lets you put in your dates and choose stars and area (Termini is at the bottom of the list).

I stayed a couple of times at the Hotel Kennedy, just a block or so from the termini, quite close to where the Leonardo Express comes in. Nice staff, reasonably priced and not a bad area. Got good reviews on tripadvisor.

Dear Worldinabag,
I investigated the bluerose site, and it looked fabulous. Have you ever used them?

We(4 ladies ) stayed at the Tempio d Pallade Hotel in 2003. It was about 5 minutes from the termini station. It was clean and the people were friendly.
Take a left after you exit the train station and cross the street and walk straight for about 5-6 blocks. Wonderful ruins just about at the hotel entrance on the track side.

I stayed at the Hotel Diana. It was very close to the Termini (3 minute walk). But it was a very nice hotel.

No sorry cj - no such luck. Like you I just thought it looked great on the website and at a good rate. Definitely one of my choices when I return to Rome. Looking forward to someone reviewing it.

I stayed one night at the Hotel Kennedy. It's a very short walk (I think it's less than one block) from Termini. The room was small but clean and quiet, the bathroom tiny, but I managed to take a shower and the staff was friendly and helpful. My rate included breakfast, which was average quality, but plentiful.

I'd stay there again if I needed just an overnight before taking a train from Rome.

I stayed at Hotel Igea in 2003; it was clean, served a nice breakfast and a block away from the Roma Termini. http://www.to-rome-hotels.com/hotel-igea/ivufok-1.html
