help need on train ride from Munich to Venice
I'm using railsaver.com to book train tickets for travel from Amsterdam-Munich-Venice-Flroence-Rome-Paris. It recommended me to buy Eurail 4-country 6-day pass. But for the trip between Munich and Venice, it said "Use the Eurail 4 Country Benelux/France/Germany/Italy 6 Day 1st Class Adult Saver Select pass to cover the segment from MUNICH to KUFSTEIN.

Purchase a 2nd Class Adult Ticket to cover the segment from KUFSTEIN to BRENNERO. Purchase this ticket for approximately 13 USA Dollars.

Use the Eurail 4 Country Benelux/France/Germany/Italy 6 Day 1st Class Adult Saver Select pass to cover the segment from BRENNERO to VENICE."

I understand it was trying to save one country for me, but do I have to get off the train at KUFSTEIN and BRENNERO? It would be a night train, and I'd like to sleep through it.
Also shall I use railsaver.com to purchase trian pass or shall I wait till get to Europe.
Sorry for the long question, many thanks in advance.

You will not have to get off and back on the train. Show your pass to the conductor, along with the ticket for the Austrian link between Germany and Italy at the time the conductor either comes around, or upon boarding if you plan to purchase a couchette or sleeper compartment. The sleepers are extra.

Also, you cannot purchase a Eurail pass in Europe; you will have to purchase it in the U.S.

Have fun; this will be an enjoyable night ride, except that it arrives in Venice at 7:15 in the morning!

I think there are only second class couchettes on that train (six to a compartment - there are some trains with first class couchettes, four to a compartment). You'll only need a second-class ticket for the Austrian leg; you'll also pay a supplement of 15 or 20 Euros for the couchette.

You can have a longer and more comfortable night in a sleeper if you board about 2300, leave 2339, leave the train at Bologna at 0734, buy coffee and sandwiches, leave Bologna at 0750 and reach Venice at 0953.

[email protected]
