I am going to Venice, Florence and Rome at the end of November for 8 days. I added 2 more days at the end of the trip which I didn't schedule yet and would like suggestions on where to go in the short 2 days at the end of my trip. Something different to round out the trip would be great. I know its an open ended question, but we like EVERYTHING (cities, towns, big & small). If anybody can suggest where to go & where to stay there, that would be great.

It can be a pain to get to, especially depending on which city you'll be getting there from, but Cinque Terre is amazing.

I'm not sure if you now have 8 or 10 days to travel. Even with 10 days, I would stick to your original itinerary and plan 3 days in Venice, 3 days in Florence and 4 in Rome. For something different spend one of your Florence days in Siena or San Gimignano. Ten days is barely enough time to see these three wonderful cities. If you have 8, you will be rushed!

I know it is rushed. Unfortunately w/our jobs its the way we always travel. I am hoping that we get a good overview & return someday to explore our favorites at greater length.

It will be less rushed if you take the extra 2 days and add them to the original 3 cities!

You, of course, have every right to travel in whatever manner you choose. But, I'm curious - In your last post you indicated that "unfortunately" you have to travel this way due to your jobs? If it's unfortunate, doesn't that mean that you'd rather not do it this way? If so, then why do it?

Many of us would rather travel at a slightly more leisurely pace (I'm not talking lounging on the beach, just not frantic) and possibly not see the entire world in our lifetimes. If you'd rather see it all, albeit quickly, then your plan makes sense. But instead of running through Italy now with the hopes of someday returning to do it more slowly, why not visit 2 or 3 cities now, slowly, and return later to visit the others, also slowly? Just a thought. Feel free to ignore my potentially incoherent rambling as I operate on very little sleep at the moment.

Take the extra 2 days and add them to the original 3 cities!
