Help me choose venice hotel for Honeymoon
I have recieved the same quotes from both the San Moise and the Hotel Ala. 210 euro for a canal view double room for early July. Which one should I go with, they both seem to have great reviews. These are our last nights in Italy so I don't want something too "plain". Thanks.

This doesn't help you choose between those two, but may provide another option. We stayed at the Hotel American in the Dorsoduro area for our honeymoon last year and loved it (once we got past its cheesy name).
We had room 101 right on a large canal and had 3 (!) balconies. You can see pics here (the 2nd and 3rd pink room):

Good luck deciding! - h.

Both hotels look very nice. And the locations are really not that far apart. I do remember passing the Ala and we just loved the little campo that it was situation in...very near La Fenice
We have found thif you request a superior room, the room is a bit bigger and prettier...and if you request a view, all the better. And usually the price is not that much more.

Sorry, I hit post by mistake. I'll try my response again.

It was in the evening and we noticed the Ala and just a short bit away were diners sitting at outdoor cafes...just lovely. This is a link to a photo of that campo: http://www.slowtrips.com/photo/showg...;=&action= The photo is 354.

How exciting, planning a honeymoon!
