Help me beat EasyJet baggage fee!
#21
What about Vueling Air? They seem to have a lower baggage allowance for hand carry. According to their website, only 10kg but they allow up to 23kg if we check in?>>
don't understand the question. Easyjet has no weight limit on hand luggage, it goes entirely on size. so you get your 20kgs per bag that you check in plus whatever you can stuff inside the carry-on.

Sorry for not being clear. So, if my hand carry weighs 20kg I can bring it onboard Easyjet without having to check it in? Whereas with Vueling Air, the carry on is only 10kg? My apologies for sounding rather stupid but this is my first time travelling with a budget airline, so just want to be sure not to be caught with unexpected expenses.

Yes, size only matters on easyjet, but you have to be able to lift it into the overhead yourself, hopefully without doing yourself or others injury.
Hmmm cost of checking a bag versus hernia repair?

right, let's start again. here's the link: http://www.easyjet.com/en/planning/baggage.html
the only limit on carry-on luggage on Easyjet is size - see above. but you need to be able to lift it into the overhead lockers and not knock yourself [or anyone else] out in the process. can you lift 20kgs above your head? do you want to be sitting underneath it when the overhead locker cover springs open and it hits you on the head?
in theory, you could put your 20kg suitcase in the hold, and carry on your 50kg hand luggage, so long as it conforms with the size limits, but there is a prohibition on carrying on gold ingots!
