This post - - http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34449156 - - has two, mildly different perspectives on Hotel des Artistes. They're based on actual personal experience there, at least.
I see you have also made a new post, asking about three other hotels, and tring to get our attention by SHOUTING AT US AS IF WE WERE DEAF.
Please don't do that.
I don't know any of those three other hotels at all personally, for what it's worth.
Best wishes,
Rex

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Des Artistes for five nights in the summer of 2000. I would go back to Rome and this hotel in a heartbeat. Conveniently located, helpful, friendly staff, and the rooms were quite nice. There is a great rooftop garden for morning coffee or a nightcap. Have a great trip!

Hello Belem. A number of years ago (about 5??) we stayed at the Holiday Inn West in Rome. It was a large, comfortable hotel, with our standard room having 2 double beds. Seems the size of the room was about what U.S. Holiday Inns are, which was a pleasant surprise for Europe travel. We had a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool/grassy area, so our room was very quiet at night.
As far as location, it's not within walking distance of any of the "attractions", but they did have a hotel shuttle (however, it was always packed so make sure you get to the line early for it). Also, just in front of the hotel is a city bus line that takes you right to the heart of everything, which was very convenient.

Hi
We returned from Rome about 2 wks ago and stayed at the Santa Chiara. It's around the corner from the Pantheon and within walking distance of the sights we wanted to see. Nice hotel, good buffet breakfast, decent sized, very clean room. We would stay there again. They also arranged for a limo driver to pick us up at the airport and return.
