I need help deciding between these two:

Relaiz Palazzo del Capitano in San Quirico D'orcia

OR

Castello di Velona in Montalcino

Looking for very nice accommodations in a "classic Tuscan setting"; with access to a town closeby. Will have a car to tour nearby areas. Want to dine, relax, drink wine after hectic schedule in Rome and Amalfi Coast. July. Traveling with teens; pool at Castello di Velona looks nice...will the teens be bored to death tho because it is so remote? Would they have better access to a town in San Quirico? Staying 3 nites; Pricing is similar in both places.

Anyone out there familiar with these two properties? Maybe I should have put the name of them in the title to get a better response....I need to make a decision quickly...any help with comparison info much much appreciated!!

We loved Montalcino. Did not stay at this property; we stayed at an agritourismo outside the village for a differnt classic experience and were very very happy. However, if you are within the village walls, it will be lovely. I would hesitate to stayat a hotel outside the walls however.

We have stayed at Palazzo several times and really enjoy SanQuirico....but, this is a sleepy little town. Unless we missed something, didn't see anything much to amuse teens.

Thanks for the input. I am not really looking for alot of activity for teens to be going on in such a town; it just sounded from the description that maybe they would be able to walk around a bit; maybe grab a soda? something to that effect. I am leaning toward Castello di Velona right at this time even tho it may be a bit out of town. I am looking for the time we spend in Tuscany to be at a slower pace. We had our two teenaged boys with us in Montalcino. Crociona has a pool that they were able to relax around while we went wine tasting; they also enjoyed strolling thru Montacino; cant'say that they truly enjoyed running the hills in the village but it was an experience. The nice thing about the hill towns to me was that they could go off on their own for awhile and honestly, there was only so far they could wander! The pool was a huge bonus for us -
