HELP: Bus transport within Galway?

We have finally secured a reasonable quote on an Avis rental car (via Auto Europe) for our trip to Ireland in August. However, the planned drop-off in Galway seems inconvenient. The Avis drop-off location is listed as Windsor Galway, Monivea Road, Ballybrit. This is apparently a car dealership located many, many blocks from where we plan to take a shuttle out to the Aran Islands for a Saturday overnight on Inismore. The shuttles leaves from Eyre Square in the middle of Galway. Timing is an issue--we'd like to take the 10:30 shuttle out of Galway to Rossaveel. Since our day begins in Kinvara, we will need to drive from there into the Avis drop-off location, then find a way to get to the shuttle departure point downtown. Is anyone familiar with what transportation alternatives we may have? Is there a city bus along Monivea Road into central Galway? And before anyone suggests it, our schedule will NOT permit us to keep the rental car an extra day, which would admittedly get us to Rossaveel without the hassle of needing a cab or bus to catch the downtown shuttle.

The easiest way would be to rent from Budget who are the only rental with a city location (near the Bus/train station) There is a bus service covering Ballybrit

Tony beat me to it - but I can't understand how his reply didn't show up until I posted mine.

Thanks Tony. We'll double check Budget but Avis offered the best price we could find--and it wasn't even close. BTW, car rentals in Ireland seem to be quite expensive but admittedly we are looking at August AND asking for a car with automatic tranny plus we're getting the CDW insurance coverage.

On top of CDW standard cover there is SCDW Super collision damage waver for wheels and glass. If you get a super cheap quote there is usually something missing always get an ALL inclusive quote for what you will pay TOTAL. Its not the hire car it's all the insurance and extras that bang the price.

Unfortunately insurance for US licence holders is loaded. Possibly something to do with the red eye rovers, jump off an overnight into a hire car. Set off on the wrong side of strange roads and bend the car, 30seconds after the jet lag decides it'll have a laugh.

We tend not to drive auto over here, engine braking is a big bonus on our roads.
