Help! Best Way to Travel Between Paris and Barcelona

What is the best way to travel from Paris to Barcelona? I've been on several rail websites, but an really confused as to which train is the best, which accommodation is the best on a train for my fiance and I, and how I make a seat reservation? Thanks for any suggestions!!

The best way to travel from Paris to Barcelona just might be to fly rather than to take the train. Air Lib Express, the discount French carrier, has gone out of business, but its slots at Orly Airport have been reassigned. There will be Paris-Barcelona service on EasyJet and Iberia, possibly beginning as soon as June. Will that fit your schedule? For more information, do a search on "air lib" (leave off the quotation marks) and you'll find a helpful note from a person who is very knowledgable about this.

Correction ot my earlier post. Iberia already has service between Paris and Barcelona. I don't know if they are selling any tickets at a discount for that route, however.

TimS - Thank you so much for the suggestion - I'll definitely look into that, as I'd much rather take the shortest route possible. I had looked on Ryan Air for different routes, but nothing seemed to be practical. Anyway - thanks so much for your help!

If you decide not to fly and take the train the easiest option is the hotel night train, the Joan Miro which leaves Paris (Austerlitz) at 8:32 PM and arrives in barcelona the next morning at
8:24 AM. Traveling on a pass gets you a discount. If you do decide to do this rather than flying I wouldn't go in anything less than First Class.
