Help about Alhambra Tickets

Hello,

I'll be in Granada in September and want to visit Alhambra, but when I try to buy tickets at the www.alhambratickets.com, I see the following message:
"Following instructions issued by THE ALAMBRA AND GENERALIFE'S BOARD OF TRUSTEES, and due to the forthcoming termination of the convention, THE EARLY SALE OF TICKETS FOR VISITS LATER THAN 31 JULY 2007 IS ADJOURNED."

Could anyone advice how to buy tickets. Thank you very much!

It appears that the Alhambra has changed contractors for the sale of advance tickets. Look at the Alhambra website
http://www.alhambradegranada.org/gui...ntradas_en.asp

Scroll down and see that there is one click for purchase of tickets up to July 31 and another for tickets for later dates. The new contractor is ServiCaixa Ticket Sales.

If this doesn't work, ask your hotel to reserve tickets for you; I think they do that routinely.

I am also trying to buy tickets for my late in August visit. I tried going to the site as kayd suggested and angelthepep used succussfully. That page will not open on my computer. Am I doing somthing wrong? Is there another way on to the site?

Go to www.servicaixa.com , type ALHAMBRA in the search box, and then go to ALHAMBRA Y GENERALIFE. You will be able to get tickets for the day, night and gardens-only visits.

Thanks so much Cova
This worked perfectly
I have a confirmation number
but what does "may only be collected from the venue ticket offices" mean in regard to the Alhambra? Where is that? Also our entry time Nasrid is De 17 30 a 18h. I am used to the way we say time is the US. Could you translate that for me..
Thanks in advance,
Seph III

It means that with that confirmation number you have to get your tickets at the Alhambra ticket office, at the entrance. I suppose there will be almost no line there. Your time is from 5:30 PM to 6 PM.

Thanks Kenderina
That helps me
When I told my son about the "military style" time system he asked me a good question.
When we are actually in the country how do you refer to the time?
He is studying spanish and expects to continue so he wants to know in spanish.
I don't speak spanish so for me do we say seventeen- thirty or 5:30 in english?

In Spanish we would say : "de cinco y media a seis" which translates as "from five and a half to six" , no need to say morning or afternoon..they are not opened so early in the morning LOL

I forgot to say, in formal writing you will see the hours from 0 to 24 hours.

Hi, angelthepep -
It's been some time since I was at the Alhambra, but I thought I'd mention that there was a line at the ticket venue when I was there, and not a very short line either! That was in mid-October. Also, when I went, my ticket specified two times - one for admission to the Alhambra as a whole and one for admission to the Nazrid Palace. Hope that helps!
