Heineken Brewery
Has anyone taken the "tour" in Amsterdam lately? What's it like now that you don't tour an actual brewery? Most important, how much does it cost? I turned around and walked out of the Guiness brewery tour in Dublin when I learned it would cost my girlfriend and I almost $25.00 for a lousy tour.

Boy do I remember back in 1971 the first time I visited Amsterdam. The brewery tour was one of the highlights...you could smell the beer throughout the tour and at the end they took you to this room with all sorts of snacks and you could have as much beer as you wanted...now

it's like a museum of heineken. They have some interesting things like the remnants of some of the large vats where the beer was aged, some rides sort of showing you what happens to a bottle of beer but most disappointinly (or luckily as the case may be) you only get 3 beers on the tour and a souvenir glass at the end.

The cost is €7.50....is it worth it? I don't know....back then you had to show up real early as there were only a small number of visitors admitted each day now...you show up when you want, pay your money and you're in....
