Heathrow Terminal T3 - Hotels

It appears I'll be arriving at Heathrow T3, staying overnight and leaving also from T3.

What is the closest or best hotel options.

Thanks.

There is a hotel right in the terminal - Sheraton I think but there is a gaggle of cheaper hotels on the airport periphery and linked to terminals by bus.

The closest may be the Yotel in Terminal 4: http://www.yotel.com/. Interestingly, it doesn't show up on the "official" hotel list linked from the airport home page: http://hotelandparking.heathrow.com/?src=HP1102

these are pods you rent by the hour - perhaps more for folks with several hours between flights?

Yotel also works overnight at quite reasonable rates. If I were staying overnight I'd rather ride the free Heathrow Express to another terminal than pay for the Hoppa to get to a hotel. But if my flight got in in the morning I'd spend the night in town.

Maybe I should modify my request.

Since there are so many hotels on Bath Road what are the options for getting to and from Terminal 3? I don't suppose any have their own shuttle buses.

From the map it appears a 1000 ft on either side of Tunnel Road would be best. Correct?

Also, I expect to arrive in the evening around 9:30 and leave between 11AM and 1PM the next day.

Maybe that should have been more like a half mile on either side of Tunnel Road.

First to clarify - There is no hotel IN T-3, and T-4 is not at all convenient to T-3.

None of the off-airport hotels have shuttles - but are served by the for-pay Hotel Hoppa bus. It makes no difference which hotel along the Bath Road/A4 you choose - all are served by Hoppas. A few hotels are on each Hoppa route - so there is really no advantage one property over another. Just choose based on which chains you like, or your budget or whatever. In fact - I always bid priceline if I need a hotel at LHR since the exact hotel makes very little difference for me.

And I just thought of something.

If I were to take the Hotel Hoppa or a taxi, do they take credit cards? I doubt I'd have any local currency.

yes -- plus there are ATMs in arrivals if you want to use cash.

Or you can buy tix on line. But I'd just buy them at LHR (w/ your cc) one less thing to remember to take.

ah yes I was mixing up Terminal 4 and 3 - from 3 just take tjhe bus from the combined bus station serving terminals 1, 2 and 3 at any of many hotels.
