Ended up with a booking at the Sheration Heathrow hotel through Priceline. Now I find alot of reviews that say it's pretty awful. Has anyone stayed there recently? Is this hotel that bad?

Do you mean the reviews at tripadvisor? I'll take that with a grain of salt. I think those reviewers are mostly business travelers who are used to 4-5* hotels, who paid full price for the room, and who have high expectations. If you read the reviews of the hotel on biddingfortravel, they don't sound as bad.

I recently stayed at the Heathrow Holiday Inn M4 Jct4, thru Priceline. The reviews on the HI on tripadvisor were even worse than your Sheraton. But my stay was fine, room was clean etc.

So I'd say, don't worry too much about it.

I was there in September and it was fine. Not the best Sheraton I've ever stayed in, but clean and comfortable. The only objection was there is a fee for the airport shuttle and it has a limited capacity, so we ended up getting a taxi because the shuttle that would get us to the airpport at the right time was booked full in advance.

We got the Sheraton Skyline through Priceline in 2006. It was fine. We took the shuttle to get to the hotel from the airport, and the taxi on the way out. The accomodations were nice. My only complaint was that food was expensive. Since we were flying business class, thanks to frequent flyer miles, we just got up and went straight to the airport in the morning and went to the lounge to eat breakfsst without cost. I thought the hotel was a good deal. We only needed a place to spend the night before we flew out. This isn't too recent, but it was great for what we needed in 2006.

boom_boom - Do you mean the Hoppa Bus when you said "airport shuttle"? FYI, at London Heathrow, all the airport hotels are serviced by the Hoppa (with multiple lines). The Hoppa charges £4pp. The airport hotels are not allowed to operate their own free shuttle to the airport.

And I don't understand about the shuttle "was booked full in advance." The Hoppa does not take advance reservations. If it's completely packed full, one can wait for the next one, which runs approx every 10-15 minutes.

Sheraton Skyline Heathrow is not Sheraton Heathrow.

Skyline is a notch or 2 better than Sheraton.
