Heathrow connection to Edinburgh
I asked this question some time back but I couldn't find the answer when I did a search. So, on This Feb. 1 I am flying United from SFO to Terminal 1 at Heathrow. I have two hours to make my BMI flight to Edinburgh, also terminal 1. I have been to Heathrow many times but never made a connecting flight onward. I will have carry on only. I assume that I will go the same route to clear immigration/Customs, then once in the arrival area I need to get to the departure area, go through security and then to the departure gate for the BMI flight. Am I correct? Thanks.

The new terminal One is far more user friendly than in past. BMI are very tight about closing that gate but presumably you are traveling on the same ticket and will have been checked in from SFO.
Flight connections should save you the main immigration line wait--but security is still time consuming--they mandatorily do an entire screening if you forget to take that water bottle or half eaten cracker out of your carry on.
There is a very helpful BMI attendant stationed at the self check in kiosks who can direct you to where you need to go.
Enjoy your trip to Edinburgh!
