MFNYC,
We paid each driver separately for our roundtrip. The return is usually cheaper - if I recall correctly ours was 24 pounds from LHR and 19 back. We tipped about 10%.

Any feedback on totallyairports.com ? They quote 46.00 for trip form London to Stansted. That's a lot less than Ray Skinner.

Hi,
I noticed that one of the recommended chauffeur companies below is 1st Premier Chauffeur Driven (tel # 020 8560 5999). I would suggest that anyone looking for a reliable service, airport or otherwise, should steer clear of this company. I was left stranded in the middle of the night, unable to contact this firm on any of it's numbers, despite numerous assurances in the week beforehand that the booking was confirmed!

woh, very helpful, if a little confusing! Our accomodation has quoted us 43gbp for a mini van transfer, there will be 4 of us all with a large suit case each......perhaps I should just go ahead. Heathrow to Earls Crt, had thought about 'the tube' but perhaps not the best idea for our very first visit to London, perhaps our return to Heathrow, we may be a little braver!!!

I have been using Joh O'Leary for years now. He is always waiting for me upon arrival, and provides good rates and a very good service- from the Us he can be contacted on 011 44 7956 976 009. He has various drivers , and they are all professional and usually arrive in a Grand Voyager.

I have also used John O'Leary many times now, and find his service to be exellent. Even once when my plane was an hour early (amazing enough), John was still awaiting my arrival.

Very helpful and courteous service, John is highly recommended

OK, forgive me for once again being the suspicious type, but isn't it convenient that Tim_E, came to Fodors today for the first time ever, and made the specific effort to register and then brought up three old posts just to tell us about a particular car service that no one else has ever mentioned?
Is this the only travel tip you have, Tim -- especially since you apparently travel to London a lot?

And even more amazing is that on this thread, two new posters just happened to register and make their first posts just minutes apart about the exact same subject. So both youngsterm and Tim_E just happened to register here to browse old threads on London transfers so they could post about the same firm. Amazing coincidence isn't it?

Now you want to hear even a more amazing thing? Youngsterm has misquoted the number with it ending in 009. That is the same wrong number than Tim_E just happened to give on one of the other threads, and then he corrected it to 09. Great minds work alike huh? Both misquoted the number in the same way. Which one will come back here to correct it?

There have been a grand total of four posts ever done on Fodors regarding John O'Leary.

The first one was Wednesday by a brand new poster who first registered and posted at 4:47 PM on a thread that was brought up from below thousands of other three month old posts.

The second one was at 4:51 PM by another poster who had just registerd -- four minutes later and with the exact same information to report!

The third one was posted at 4:56 on another three month old post that had to be searched and brought to the top to add to it.

The fourth one was posted at 4:59 on yet another old post which also had to be searched and brought to the top.

And it is a total coincidence that those two posters who both just happened to register within 4 minutes of each other to tell us about the same company, both just happened to give the phone number wrong, both adding an extra zero in the same place.

Have you thought about contacting Ripley's Believe it of Not about these coincidences?

OK, time for you to come back here, Tim_E as you did on your other posts and pretend to be offended at this outrageous accusation.
