Thanks everyone. Have not had time to look at much today. One Holiday Inn was not available. The other had a rate of 135 pounds which was the lowest I could find on their website yesterday. The 105 at the Marriott is also in pounds. i find that Still a bit high for just an overnight. I will check out the bidding sites etc. when I have a minute.

Has anyone stayed at the Premier Inn on Bath Road? It looks nice.

Whenever I'm not successful w/ a priceline bid at LHR - that is where I book. The Premier Travel Inn is on a Hoppa route, has a bar, snack bar and restaurant - w/ very good rates. But the rates do vary a lot depending on day of the week.

Deborah, hubby and I were put up at the Premier Inn on Bath Rd. last autumn when we missed our connection from Venice. (BA's fault.) I was apprehensive, arriving on the Hoppa bus, but quickly realized this was a good thing! Our room was fine, and quiet, and there was a Starbucks's and a very nice buffet restaurant downstairs. I'd stay there again! It wasn't hugely exciting, and the hall carpet was a bit worn, but it was quite comfortable, the food was good, and we rested well.
