Having trouble booking museum tickets online...
I have tried several times at http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/default.aspx using both a Visa and a Mastercard, but my transaction is always cancelled (yes, I'm choosing Invio). Has anyone else had problems? How expensive might it be to call from a cell phone to reserve tickets? I'm trying to reserve tickets to Uffizi and Accademia.

I just ordered tickets for a trip in June through that same website. I had the same problem when trying to use my Master Card that is due to expire in late 2010. I tried a different card with an expiration date a few years out and it worked. I didn't have to notify the credit card company. Good luck

Hi SD,

You can purchase tickets online at http://www.polomuseale.firenze.it/english/musei/uffizi/
Or call the museum booking line on +39 055 294883, open during Italian hours from 8.15 am to 5.50 pm Tuesday to Sunday for the English-speaking operator.

It's hard for someone to tell what it might cost you for a cell phone call without knowing your carrier and plan you have etc.
You can buy a long distance calling card for as little as 5 dollars. You first dial an 800 number so there is no long distance charged to your phone itself... That would give you more than enough time to use the number Ira has provided above.
I live in Canada, so I don't know if you have them available, but here we have 10-10 phone numbers... you dial that number first then the number you want in Europe. I can call using such a number for as little as 5 cents a minute.
