Are these next ones too far out for someone staying near the river? they are in the 15th...In other words it would have to be worth it...

l'Affriole - We liked this small and simple restaurant. I ordered the chicken with, I believe, risotto, which was delicious.
l'Os a Moelle - Was excellent and we probably enjoyed this restaurant the most. Don't confuse it with La Cave de l'Os a Moelle which is a wine bar across the street with an all you can eat buffet with no choice of menu. Same owner. Didn't eat there, and supposed to be good, but just realize that it isn't the restaurant. l'Os Moelle really isn't that far out by Metro but we did get a little confused finding it and had to ask someone where it was. Check your map before going. I would say worth the effort to find.

Ate in Pre Verre last week. Menu was 25.50 euro, and a very nice bottle of wine 17 euro. Interesting menu, I started with a warm pork pate flavored with cinnamon. Sucking pig in a cream sauce was delicious. Beet flavored ice cream??interesting. Portions small. Make reservations.They open at 7:30 and our reservation was at 7:45 and they must have turned away about 15 parties.

Hypatia, we leave in a week and a half and have reservations at Pre verre and the cave de los a moelle for lunch an for dinner at le troquet, los a moelle and le beurre noisette. are you looking at the list i posted on line w/ the best restos for under 30 euros? i will be sure to report my findings!

First, just to clear up a little confusion; Scarlett said Le Troquet is in the 7th. Not so. Le PETIT Troquet is in the 7th, while Le Troquet is in the 15th. I'm just back from Paris, dined at both Troquet's & recommend both of them very highly. I'd even go so far to say that neither of them should be missed. The cuisine is exquisite gourmet in both establishments; you can go with traditional French cooking or lighter fare at both places. The presentation is flawless & first-rate in both. Only difference is the ambiance. Le Troquet is a semi-large, rustic type of place; rough-hewn tables w/out tablecloths, lots of smokers and loud (tho not obnoxious!) diners at closely situated tables. Le Petit Troquet, by contrast, is tiny, almost silent, with NO smoke & elegantly set tables w/plenty of crystal & crisp, white tablecloths & napkins. I absolutely loved both places & our bills were within a few Euro's of each other. Only difference was that we had to air out our clothes for a day after Le Troquet.

The Bistro Paul Bert, Metro Faidherbe-Chaligny (quite worthwhile) is nowhere near a flea market.
We enjoyed Le Timbre. Nothing in the way of decor ,and tight seating side by side but the food is very good and if you're lucky with the seating you'll get to watch the chef at work. He's English, his wife is French, and the cheese plate is superb (and also English).
