Has anyone used a Garmin 370 in France?

I am looking at a Garmin 370 GPS for our upcoming trip to France. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with that model. We will be driving from Paris to Versailles then to Normandy and down to Provence. I'm curious if the roads and routing are accurate. Any suggestions on other models? Thanks for the help.

We used a Garmin 330 earlier this year for a long week driving in Brittany. I would never go to France again without it! It worked flawlessly on roads large and small, and we saw lots of places we never would have otherwise, as Madame La Carte (as we call the unit when in France) took us on country roads we would not have found (or dared!) with Michelin maps only.

I'm happy to see this thread because I just ordered a Garmin Nuvi 350. At present, I'll be using it in the US, but I will be using it in Europe within a year. My question: Where does one find downloadable European maps, either online or in stores? Thanks in advance for any help.

You might want to consider returning your 350 and getting a 370, which comes with both the US and Europe map sets. The Europe map set that comes pre-loaded on the 370 sells for about $300.

I should mention that I used the 370 in France this summer, though only as a pedestrian so I can't tell you much.

We have a 350 and ordered the European map chip from Amazon. It was less than $300 but not by much.

We bought the 370 expressly for the reason that it comes with very recent maps of the U.S. and Europe. We love it...very intuitive to use and you can put it in your pocket for pedestrian use as well. The maps are very detailed.
