Has anyone stayed in Hotel Jeanne D'Arc in Paris (Marais district)??

I was wondering if this hotel is clean. I have heard mostly positive reviews of this place, with the exception of one person complaining about dirty linens, etc.

Any thoughts on Hotel Jeanne D'Arc? Is it noisy?

Thank you!

This hotel has been discussed a LOT here. The search box is at the top of the page and a search for

hotel jeanne

will bring up several thread with recent information.

On your other post you ask for "Looking for Paris hotel with a killer view, which is not some chain hotel or super-expensive place...I like smaller boutique hotels or romantic bed-and-breakfast-type place."

While Jeanne d'Arc is not 'super-expensive', I doubt that it could be called a "boutique" or "romantic" type of hotel.

You should be sure to look at this review from a recent Fodors traveler that created a blog on his trip: http://richardab.typepad.com/iheartp...jeanne_da.html

Hi betty,
From what Richard said about the Hotel Jeanne D'Arc, I would not want to stay there. Do read his review. Good luck!

Yeah that place is not really my style. I think its popular because its CHEAP. Like i said, you get what you pay for, right? Up your budget $20 so you can find place that at least MIGHT have fluffy towels!

Thanks to everyone for your input. I am currently looking into some other options such as HOTEL VERNEUIL, which is across the street from Serge Gainsbourg's old house.

Try these...

Hotel Britannique - Great Location, nice hotel
Hotel Relais du Louvre - Near Louvre, Great Rates
Hotel Castex - Basic Simple, near Bastille, low rates
Caron de Beaumarchais - Quaint, Lovely, Great Location

Hello to JLM_MI, BellaireGirl, Travelnut, Scarlett, RichardAB and MAMC!

I have currently narrowed down my Paris hotel search to: 1) Hotel du College de France (5th arr), 2) Hotel des Grandes Ecoles (5th arr) and 3) Hotel Le Verneuil (7th arr).

I chose these three based on a mix of good views, fun and safe location, price and overall charm.

Now...can anyone recall where the
JEAN PAUL GAUTHIER BOUTIQUE is?

Cheers,
Betty (NYC)

One Jean-Paul Gaultier boutique is at 6, rue Vivienne, in the 2nd Arr.

Marcy,

You're the best!! Have you been to the Gaultier boutique recently? Is it fun?

Betty,
I've only window-shopped.
I was there with my husband, who doesn't have much patience for shopping.

So that's why I'm going back in January for a girls' shopping trip!! (during the sales, too!)
